Solstice Recovery Support Services mission is to provide cost effective recovery home support services to individuals suffering from substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health issues.
James R. Hanlon NCRS, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Solstice Recovery Support Services, has 20 years of experience in the field of alcoholism and substance abuse treatment and recovery services. This experience spans from case management including family reunification, discharge planning with community reintegration, peer to peer support, life skills, auditing and accreditation, to supervisory and management roles. James has also worked with specific populations including Veterans in coordination with the Veterans Administration (VA), Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), and Government Healthcare programs of Medicare and Medicaid.
Mr. Hanlon has over 15 years of sobriety and is an active member in local 12 step support groups. James is a current board member of the Illinois Association of Extended Care (IAEC) and Chicago Recovery Communities Coalition (CRCC). He is certified as a National Certified Recovery Specialist (NCRS). James has a Bachelor’s in Science Degree in Information Technology from University of Illinois Chicago and is a Veteran having served in the United States Army National Guard as an Armored Crewman (19K).
In the Summer of 2023, James co-founded Solstice Recovery Support Services with his partner Carrie. Their goal is to provide recovery and extended care program and residences throughout the south suburbs of Chicago.
